A. Automatic Blower And Jet Purge
Twice each day, at 10AM and 6PM, the blower and jet pump(s) will automatically run for one minute to circulate potential stale water in the piping. This is a normal function of the spa. “BJ2P” will be displayed while this takes place.
B. Memory
All settings that are entered into your spa controller will be permanently retained in its solid state memory. In the event of a power failure, the time will be captured and held until power returns. All settings existing at the time of the power failure will be restored when power returns.
C. Factory Settings
To reset to factory settings, do as follows:
1. Turn off the power breaker to the spa for five minutes.
2. Turn breaker on
3. Hold down the “VIEW” button for 10 seconds. ”12:00” will be displayed and all previous settings will be lost other than temperature ”102ºF.” Time, day, and heat days will have to be programmed into the system.
D. Panel Lock
The Selectron Plus spa panel can be locked to keep children or others from using any of the spa functions. To deactivate all buttons, make sure “TIME” is displayed. Use “VIEW” button to change to “TIME” display if needed. Then hold the “UP” arrow button for 5 seconds. Notice the flashing lock icon. The panel is locked. To unlock the panel, hold the “UP” arrow button for 5 seconds again. The flashing lock icon will disappear and all spa functions will be accessible.
E. Heater Lock
You may want to prevent anyone from changing the water temperature you have chosen, while still allowing the use of any of the spa functions. This can be accomplished from the “PANEL LOCK” position only. Follow the “PANEL LOCK” procedures first and then, with the lock icon flashing, hold down the “DOWN” arrow for 5 seconds. The lock icon will be present but not flashing. All other spa functions will still operate. To unlock the “HEATER LOCK” and “PANEL LOCK” hold down the “UP” arrow button for 5 seconds. The lock icon will disappear and all spa functions, including temperature adjustment will be accessible.
F. Freeze Protection
If the temperature in the spa plumbing falls below 50º Fahrenheit (10º Celsius) the water pump(s) will turn on soft-mode and run for at least one minute. The display will show “ICE”. After one minute, if the water is still below 50º F (10º Celsius), the heater will turn on and raise the water temperature 10º F.
G. Flow Protection
If the flow of water through the heater is insufficient, the spa controller will automatically turn the heater off to prevent overheating. Call for service if you cannot pinpoint the cause.
H. Overheat Protection
If the water temperature inside the spa reaches 112º F, the pumps and the heater will be disabled. If the water temperature continues to rise and reaches 118º F due to friction in the pumps and plumbing system, the entire system including all pumps will be disabled. In “HILI” condition, DO NOT ENTER THE WATER! Remove the cover and allow the water temperature to cool down to 104 degrees F. Then run diagnostic by pressing the “PROG” button 3 times. If the “HILI” message returns, call for service.
I. Self-Diagnostic Control
The topside control on your spa has the latest diagnostic control system in the spa industry. Anytime the topside control recognizes a conflict of entries by various outside influences in its software such as power fluctuations or contrary information being fed by the system sensors, it will start flashing the display.
You can initiate the diagnostic test by pressing “PROG” button three times. The display will initially show the software revision, then the Service Amperage Draw setting, the Pump setting, and then commence the diagnostic test which will run for three and a half minutes.
Anytime during the first minute of testing, you can stop the test by pressing the “PROG” button once and use the “VIEW” button to cycle through the programming mode.
Upon completion of the test, if everything is operating correctly, the message “GOOD” will be displayed until buttons are pushed after 15 seconds.
J. H.E.E.T. Pump
Each spa is equipped with Vita Spa’s exclusive High Efficiency Energy Transfer pump. Similar to the principle of heat transfer pumps, the H.E.E.T. system transfers the heat generated by the circulation pump motor to the water 24 hours a day. After the first twelve hours of operation each day, as a protection against overheating, the H.E.E.T. pump will turn off if the water temperature exceeds the desired temperature. The 4kw-system heater will come back on when the water temperature falls 1 degree F° under the desired temperature.
You are also given the choice between12 forced hours of circulation or 24 forced hours, regardless of water tempature.
1. Press “PROG” until heat icon flashes
2. Press “VIEW” 4 times “C=12” appears.
3. Press “UP” or “DOWN” buttons to change.
4. Press “LIGHT” button to clear or wait 30 seconds.

K. Skim-Away
Skim–Away is an automatic skimming action which takes place each day from 8am until 8:30am each morning and from 4pm until 4:30pm each afternoon. The primary and secondary pumps will activate in low speed mode. This will pull all surface oils and debris into the filter well cavity.
During the programming sequence, when “SA=1” is displayed, you may then adjust the Skim-A-Way feature. The display of “SA=1” is the factory setting. This setting permits the skim-away feature to operate for 30 minutes each morning and afternoon for a total of 1 hour each day. By pressing the “UP” or “DOWN” arrows, you can change the skim-away time to 2, 4, or 6 hours each day. The total selected time will be split between morning and afternoon.
Note: In climates of high heat or during the summer, it is not recommended to have the “skim-away” cycle for more than 2 hours per day.
“F” Fahrenheit or “C” Celsius Degrees
Your spa has been preset to show the temperature in Fahrenheit “F” degrees. If you desire, you can change to Celsius “C” degrees by pressing the “PROG” button, and then holding down the “MODE” button for 10 seconds. “F” will appear in the display. Press the “PROG” button to switch back and forth between “F” and “C” mode. To exit this procedure, wait 30 seconds or press any button
L. Setting The Service Amperage Draw
1. Press “PROG” to enter the programming mode. Notice the heater icon flashing.
2. Hold the “JET” button down for 10 seconds.
3. The display will show “S=3”. Use the “UP” or “DOWN” arrows to change the display.
S=3 Indicates that the heater will stay on when the pumps are on at anytime. High or Low speed.
S=2 Indicates that the heater will shut off if either of the large pumps are turned on high speed
S=1 Indicates that the heater will only run when the primary pump is on low speed. Since the heater is associated with the HEET pump system, the primary pump does not need to be on for the heater to operate. Yet in an effort to control the amperage draw and conserve electricity, the heater will run if the primary pump is turned onto low speed but then shut off while the primary pump goes to high speed or if the secondary pump is turned on high. Once the power level has been set, this does not have to be set each time. It will be entered into the system memory.
NOTE: FOR UNITS WITH THE OPTIONAL 3rd PUMP FEATURE.
The third pump can be activated from either the topside control or the remote control. From the Topside control, one must press the “LIGHT” button twice to activate the third pump. The lights will remain on while the pump is in operation.
The third pump can also be activated from the remote control by pressing the “LIGHT” button twice or by pressing the “JET 3” button. By activating the pump with the “JET 3” button, the lights will not be turned on. Only when the “LIGHT” button is used to activate the pump will the lights be turned on. Either the “LIGHT” button or the “JET 3” button may be used to turn the pump off.
The Service Amperage Draw setting are not associated with the operation of the 3rd pump. Running the 3rd pump while the Service Amerage is in the S=2 or S=1 setting will not have any affect on the heater.
M. Heat Days
